Price Is Right

I posted awhile back about buying tickets for the price is right. We went last weekend and I had an absolute blast.
There were a few differences between the Price is Right Live and the actual show. For starters, Drew Carey nor Bob Barker were present. How could they be though? Bob is retired and Drew has to stay in LA to film the real deal. We had some celebrity game show host no doubt though.
Second, it wasn't televised.
Third, the prizes weren't quite as nice as the actual show's prizes, but nonetheless they were free prizes they were giving away. They did even have a car as a prize.
Fourth, they didn't quite play it the same way. For instance, you only got one shot at winning the item for bid and then a new set of four contestants were called down. Also, they only had one contestant to be called down for the showdown.
However, they did have the same games and I had a wonderful time yelling, jumping up and down, and sitting on the edge of my seat desperately awaiting my name to be called.
We waiting forty five minutes out in the cold to register to be a contestant and get a cool Price is Right name tag. After that, all ten of us had dinner at Kabuto's, a Japenese Steakhouse in Greensboro, then headed back for the show. None of us ended up getting called down to be a contestant, but I had a fabulous time nonetheless and it's a memory I'll never forget. I've always wanted to go to the Price Is Right since I was a little kid, and now I can cross this item off my bucket list.
Totally worth the wait!

Praying Circles

It's currently 10:00 pm and I have to be up by 4:30 am but God has put this on my heart and so I'm going to obey and blog about it.

For most of you that know me and my family, you know that my mother has a genetic disease, called Ataxia, that effects all her coordination and motor skills. For those of you reading this that don't know, here is a brief overview of what the disease is: There are several types of Ataxia, but it basically effects the central nervous system and cerebellum. So walking, speaking, writing, driving, pretty much anything and everything eventually becomes difficult or impossible.

I've watched my mother slowly deteriorate due to this disease for the past few years. It's not something that's been easy to do. However, I decided to stop watching and start praying. I'm praying circles that God will wipe our family clean of this disease. That He will heal my mother and that she will be able to walk again. That this disease will not affect me, my siblings, nor our children. God has no limit to His power. He  feed thousands with just a little bit of bread and a few fish. He healed the blind. He rained down millions of quail in the dessert to feed his children fleeing Egypt. I KNOW THAT MY GOD CAN DO ANYTHING. He is the ultimate healer.

I'm asking that you will join me in praying circles around this disease and praising God for the miracles that I know He is going to do.

But You Don't Have To Take My Word For It...

I told you guys earlier about the fast that we did at my church. Along with that fast, the pastor also gave a recommendation of a book that we read while fasting. I HIGHLY encourage you to read this book, The Circle Maker by Mark Batterson. It talks about praying circles around your biggest dreams and greatest fears (I got that off the cover). But seriously though, it's a great book. It has examples of people who have prayed and how God answered those prayers. It will definitely expand your faith.

Favorites

If you were to ask me what my favorite food was, chips and salsa would rank in the top three. I LOVE a good chip dipped in salsa, preferably homemade salsa. And since we all know that I'm no Chef Barbreee, this just happens to be something that I can easily make and have for a snack. Came across this recipe and thought I'd try it out. Absolutely delicious and worth making.

2 Cans of Diced Tomatoes
1 Little Can of Diced Green Chilis
1/2 Bunch of Cilantro Chopped (If you don't like a whole of lot that Cilantro taste, I'd recommend less)
1 Clove of Garlic Minced
3-4 Whole Green Onion (Stem Included) Chopped UP
Couple Shakes of Red Pepper Flakes
1 Tsp of Salt (Add more for a saltier taste)
Blend All of this together minus the tomatoes, then add the tomatoes and blend a little to mince the tomatoes.
